Professional Experience
After completion of her 3-year professional training in the mid
1980's as a translator/interpreter, Ilke worked as a personal
assistant in various positions for the US Military in Würzburg
and Mainz, Germany and then as a personal assistant to the
founding director of the Max-Planck-Institute for Polymer
Research in Mainz, Germany. In 1997, she migrated to Australia
and started her own business as a full-time self-employed
translator (NAATI accreditation as Professional Translator
German <-> English). She has always dedicated herself to
providing a personal service of the highest standard and
quality.
Ilke’s clients include both government and private translation
agencies in addition to language service providers, companies
and individuals. She is listed as an endorsed translator by the
Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Sydney
and by the diplomatic representations in Canberra and Brisbane.

the morning or during holidays, keeping body and mind fit.
Ilke lives and works in Melbourne during summer months and in
Brisbane during winter.
Her love of travel has taken her and her camera around most of
Australia, back to Germany to visit her family in Würzburg, as
well as to Antarctica, Botswana, and the United States.
